The Human Version
Use Roger That responsibly. Don't be a jerk. That's basically it.
The rest of this page exists because lawyers say it has to. But really, just use the app for legitimate communication and we're all good.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Roger That ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the app. Simple.
2. What Roger That Is
Roger That is a push-to-talk voice communication app that:
- ✓ Enables peer-to-peer voice communication via WebRTC
- ✓ Uses channel codes to connect users
- ✓ Collects zero personal data
- ✓ Does not store voice recordings
- ✓ Provides real-time communication only
3. Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use Roger That. If you're under 18, you should have your parent or guardian's permission. Since we don't collect any information, we can't verify your age—but we expect you to be honest.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use Roger That for:
- ✗ Illegal Activities: Any communication that violates local, state, national, or international law
- ✗ Harassment: Threatening, abusing, or harassing other users
- ✗ Hate Speech: Promoting violence or discrimination against individuals or groups
- ✗ Harmful Content: Sharing instructions for violence, self-harm, or illegal activities
- ✗ Fraud: Deceiving or scamming other users
- ✗ Impersonation: Pretending to be someone you're not for malicious purposes
- ✗ Interference: Attempting to disrupt the service or other users' experience
We can't monitor what you say (the app is peer-to-peer), but you're still responsible for how you use it.
5. Your Responsibilities
When using Roger That, you are responsible for:
- ✓ Your own communications and conduct
- ✓ Keeping channel codes secure if you want private conversations
- ✓ Complying with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction
- ✓ Not sharing channel codes with people you don't trust
6. No Warranties
Roger That is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee:
- ✗ The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- ✗ Voice quality in all network conditions
- ✗ Compatibility with all devices or networks
- ✗ That the app will meet your specific needs
We do our best to make it work well, but technology has limits.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roger That and its creators shall not be liable for:
- ✓ Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- ✓ Loss of data (we don't have your data anyway)
- ✓ Content of communications between users
- ✓ Actions of other users on the platform
- ✓ Service interruptions or technical issues
You use the app at your own risk.
8. Intellectual Property
The Roger That name, logo, and app design are our intellectual property. You may not:
- ✗ Copy or modify the app's source code without permission
- ✗ Use our branding to create fake or misleading apps
- ✗ Reverse engineer the app for malicious purposes
Security research and auditing for the purpose of improving security is welcome.
9. Termination
Since there are no accounts, there's nothing to terminate. However, we reserve the right to:
- ✓ Shut down the service at any time (with reasonable notice when possible)
- ✓ Block access from specific networks or regions if required by law
- ✓ Modify or discontinue features
If we ever shut down, we'll try to give you a heads up.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do:
- ✓ We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
- ✓ Significant changes will be announced in the app or on the website
- ✓ Continued use of the app means you accept the new terms
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the service provider is located.
12. Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We're not lawyers, but that's how it works.
